Violent Crime Compensation

The Victim Compensation Division of the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute allows victims of a violent crime to apply for reimbursement of medical and other eligible expenses they have incurred as a result of a violent crime. For more info visit: https://vcc.cji.in.gov/Public/Home.aspx

After an Arrest:

Offender Book-In/Intake Information

Vigo County Jail information is available at http://sheriff.vigocounty.in.gov/ under the county jail and inmate lookup section. Offender Book-Out/Release Notification 

Bond reduction hearings may be scheduled or held without prior notice. If you would like to receive notification regarding the status of the Defendant’s incarceration you may contact our office, or register online on the Vine Link website at https://www.vinelink.com/

The Vigo County Crime Victim Assistance Program can provide information about criminal court proceedings regarding the defendant. You are not alone. An advocate can explain how the court system works, provide a secure waiting area, and attend court with you. If you would like more information please visit our contact section.

Indiana Department of Correction's Indiana SAVIN and ALERT Notification Service Site

Indiana SAVIN stands for Statewide Automated Victim Information & Notification. The Indiana SAVIN program is a free, automated hotline that provides crime victims with vital information and notification 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This service will allow you to obtain offender information and to register for notification of a change in offender status, such as offender release. All registrations through Indiana SAVIN are kept completely confidential. https://indianasavin.in.gov/Default.aspx
